Family Attractions in Perdido Key Fl Pensacola Fl Gulf Coast Alabama

There is lots to do for families right here in the Perdido Cove RV Resort & Marina including fishing from our pier (no license required) or spending the day playing in our outdoor pool, playground or horseshoe pit.  The famous Gulf Coast white sand beaches in the Gulf Island National Seashore are only one mile from our park. There are also lots of great family activities to choose from in nearby Pensacola and on the Alabama Gulf Coast.

National Museum Of Naval Aviation in Pensacola Florida
With 300,000 square feet of displays, this is one of the world’s largest aviation museums. Located aboard Pensacola Naval Air Station, the museum boasts more than 150 beautifully restored aircraft representing Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard aviation.  It’s also home to the US Navy’s Blue Angel Flight Squadron.  Check the website for their practice times!  You can experience what it feels like to stunt fly, perform air-to-air combat and land a plane on an aircraft carrier in one of their Max Flight Simulators.  There is also an IMAX movie theater.  Entrance to the exhibits is free.

Pensacola Lighthouse & Museum
Built in 1859, the historic lighthouse is one of the tallest in the United States. Climb 177 steps to the top for amazing panoramic views.  The fact that it is located on Pensacola Bay across from the Naval Aviation Museum makes it the best place to watch the Blue Angels practice Don’t miss the ‘Ghost Tour’ or ‘Light of the Moon Tour’ for a family friendly evening of ghost stories.  Tours are held monthly, with more dates added during summer season. Dauphin Island Sea Lab
For the ecologically minded, the Estuarium is an educational facility highlighting the four key habitats of coastal Alabama: the Mobile Tensaw River Delta, Mobile Bay, the Barrier Islands and the Northern Gulf of Mexico. It includes the 10,000 square foot Exhibit Hall and a Living Marsh Boardwalk.

Magnolia Corn Maze
Worth the drive especially in the fall or early winter.   Corn maze is open most of the year and Magnolia Springs is and this quintessential southern town is a beautiful place to explore.  This farm hosts great activities for children such a pony rides, petting zoo, pig races, cow train, hayrides, rubber duck race, corn cannons and bean bag toss. The best time to visit is during the Christmas season when they have a live nativity and light displays and a train to see Santa and Mrs. Clause at the north pole.
